I started up running again in 2014 from scratch after a 3 month break to allow achilles tendonitis to heal, while walking and doing a regular eccentric exercise program for my achilles rehabilitation (heel drop exercises).
As in 2013, My training plan is to start with a good bit of walking, gradually feathering in running; my goal for 2014 is to run the AC100 in August. I plan to get my mileage up to 40 /week in February; 50/week in March; 60/week in April prior to Leona Divide 50 at the end of April. At Leona I will take it easy just to finish as this my AC100 qualifier. Then ramp to 100 miles gradually in May through June, with about 35-40% of miles done power walking, as I did in 2013 leading to a 23:13 finish at AC100.
